FERCAM handles the logistics of the Padova Marathon
The South Tyrolean logistics operator with a branch in Padova, not only sponsored this important sporting event but also provided logistical support for runners and organizers of the 23rd edition of the Padova Marathon
On April 23, FERCAM was present at the start of the Padova Marathon, where it provided logistical assistance with some vehicles powered by biofuels. As part of the logistical support agreement, FERCAM transported and delivered bags containing athletes' personal items from the Marathon starting area at the Euganeo Stadium in Padova to the finish line in Prato della Valle, as well as for Half Marathon participants from Abano Terme to Prato della Valle. FERCAM also ensured the transportation of products needed for refreshment points along the Marathon and Half Marathon routes before the races began.
Sports commitment for a more sustainable logistics
For FERCAM, participating in this event is an opportunity for visibility, but above all, it offers the company the opportunity to make known to a wide audience the initiatives aimed at making its daily activities more sustainable.
«Upon the arrival of the marathon runners in Prato della Valle, we were present with several low environmental impact vehicles that we use daily for the distribution of goods in urban centers throughout the peninsula. Our most recent Zero Emission Groupage project aims to gradually eliminate emissions; it is a highly scalable model to provide increasingly extensive and widespread coverage of a service that prioritizes zero-impact freight transport,» said Paolo Bortignon, Director of the Padova branch.
15 employees of the Alto Adige company also participated in the marathon and the city-wide race, wearing a specially made t-shirt to support Doctor Clown and Il Pulcino associations, which focus on the care of the most fragile children.
«Our work is comparable to that of a marathon runner: it requires above all perseverance, commitment, and reliability, and the history of our Padova branch confirms that we possess these qualities. We have been operating in the area as a branch of the logistics and transport operator from Alto Adige since 1986, starting from a small warehouse in Via Tommaseo with 8 employees, constantly developing until we reached the current plant with 13,500 sqm and 71 employees, where we pursue the path of customer satisfaction daily!» concludes Paolo Bortignon.
