FERCAM: towards zero-emission logistics with Renault Trucks
A partnership to achieve the goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and fighting climate change. With its E-Tech offer, Renault Trucks sets new important ambitions in terms of electric mobility, positioning itself as a reliable partner in providing customers with a complete range of electric vehicles that can be used for all types of urban transportation and construction.

FERCAM Logistics & Transport, South Tyrolean logistics operator, was one of the first Italian companies in the sector to receive an innovative Renault D 16 E-Tech at its Rome branch, which, due to its technical characteristics, was chosen to be included in the fleet dedicated to groupage services in Rome and surrounding areas.
FERCAM received a brand-new Renault Trucks D 16 E-Tech vehicle (100% electric) fitted with aluminum bodywork and a Tercam loading ramp. «Renault's D 16 E-Tech will be integrated into the fleet of electric and low-impact vehicles already in service in Rome for urban distribution. The adoption of environmentally friendly vehicles is an important element of the Emission Free Delivery project, which aims to implement a sustainable distribution service in the historic centers of our cities», says Dino Menichetti, FERCAM's Regional Manager and coordinator of the Emission Free Project.
FERCAM's Emission Free Project, which includes the Emission Free Delivery (for vehicles) and Emission Free Buildings (for buildings) sub-projects, groups together all company initiatives aimed at optimizing the use of resources for effective reduction of the environmental impact of its activities. The new vehicle will be used for local distribution, not only for groupage services in the Capital but also for art exhibitions, moving, and on any occasion where customers request particular attention to the reduction of harmful emissions.
Renault Trucks' commitment to decarbonizing transportation
The arrival of Renault Trucks' T and C 100% electric range at the end of 2023 marks a further acceleration by the manufacturer in favor of decarbonizing road freight transport. Renault Trucks is currently the only company to offer electric mobility for all uses: from the 650 kg cargo bike to the electric tractor and construction vehicle up to 44 tons.
Today Renault Trucks is giving new impetus to its strategy by further expanding its ambitions. The company aims to reach 50% of electric vehicle volumes by 2030, and by 2040, 100% of the vehicles it markets will be carbon-free.
To support these goals, Renault Trucks is entering a new era by offering a range of services designed to fully support transport companies in the energy transition process, ultimately leading to carbon neutrality. The new electric offering, called E-Tech, provides customers with 360-degree support.
360-degree support that is divided into four phases:
An initial phase in which the customer is supported by Renault Trucks experts in defining the decarbonization project, in the study and sharing of operational needs. The manufacturer provides customers with its experience in proposing transport solutions and building industrial vehicles.
A second diagnostic phase, based on knowledge of the customer's specific activity: fleet and route analysis, analysis of the electrical system of sites, etc., which includes simulation tools to support the customer's decision and monitor their activity, such as the carbon emission reduction simulator, the autonomy simulator, etc. With the results of the diagnosis, Renault Trucks provides the customer with complete advice, including executive planning and CO2 emissions reduction forecast for the following years.
Then follows a phase in which Renault Trucks becomes the architect of the decarbonization project and builds together with the customer the new electric mobility ecosystem. This includes the definition and configuration of the truck complete with equipment, the charging infrastructure at sites, maintenance contracts, etc. During this phase, Renault Trucks offers an electric truck for customers to test in real operational conditions upon request. In the final phase, Renault Trucks takes charge of the decarbonization solution, including the installation of charging infrastructure at the customer's sites, training of drivers and fleet managers, and more.
Finally, Renault Trucks and its service network monitor the customer's fleet operationally, utilizing the vehicles' connectivity. The company offers monitoring of charging infrastructure, driving and consumption, providing valuable advice for optimization, route recommendations, and maintenance procedures.
Transport companies need concrete support in the transition to electric vehicles, and Renault Trucks is by their side in the decarbonization project, providing assistance based on expertise, foresight, closeness, serenity, and speed of execution.
