Logistics on the move with Italian winter sports
Today, two FERCAM trailers travel alongside the national teams: one dedicated to Biathlon and one to Cross-Country Skiing.

Two disciplines, two dedicated trailers
The renewed partnership with FISI is also reflected in the new branding of the two dedicated trailers, one for Biathlon and one for Cross-Country Skiing.
The collaboration also creates opportunities to connect the world of winter sports with topics that are increasingly relevant to transport and mobility, including the environmental impact of logistics. Within its operations, FERCAM is working on different measures related to fleet development, alternative fuels, electrification and intermodal transport, with the aim of reducing emissions associated with its transport activities.

From transport challenge to mobile ski room
The collaboration with the Italian National Biathlon Team started with a clear operational need: simplifying the transport and preparation of the large amount of technical equipment required throughout the World Cup circuit.
The answer was a dedicated trailer designed around the work of the skimen. With six workstations and capacity for at least 180 pairs of skis, the trailer provides a fully equipped ski room that is already in place when the team reaches the next competition.
The impact on day-to-day operations has been significant. What previously required four to five hours to set up and dismantle can now be ready in around 20 minutes.
Instead of rebuilding their workspace at every stop, the technicians can focus directly on preparing the equipment for the next race.
The partnership takes a new track
The renewed collaboration with FISI introduces an important new development: FERCAM now also supports the Italian National Cross-Country Ski Team.
A second dedicated trailer joins the project, bringing the logistics model developed through the Biathlon partnership to another discipline with its own technical and operational demands.
Cross-Country Skiing requires extensive ski preparation throughout the season. Snow characteristics, temperatures and race conditions change continuously, making the work carried out by the technical team a crucial part of every competition weekend.
The dedicated trailer gives the team a consistent working environment throughout this changing scenario, keeping equipment, tools and preparation activities together as the circuit moves from one destination to the next.

Logistics that follows the World Cup
While athletes and staff move according to their own travel schedule, FERCAM manages the trailers transfers between competition venues.
Long distances, short turnaround times and an international calendar make every movement different. The task is to coordinate each leg so that the mobile ski rooms reache the next destination when the teams need it.
It is a highly specialised logistics operation that has grown alongside the partnership over the past seasons.
