FERCAM's Solutions for La Sanfermese
Partnership for Sustainability in the Agrifood Sector - La Sanfermese and FERCAM
Innovation and Sustainability: La Sanfermese Relies on FERCAM for Efficient Logistics
Operating in the agrifood sector, La Sanfermese promotes supply chain contracts for crops such as corn, wheat, and soy, committing to social and environmental sustainability. The collaboration with FERCAM enables the company to meet evolving logistical needs, ensuring flexible and punctual transportation, which is essential to maintaining continuous production and meeting customer demands. This partnership particularly emphasizes the shared goal of reducing the environmental impact of transportation activities through the use of vehicles powered by hydrogenated biofuel (HVO).
The Logistic needs of La Sanfermese
For La Sanfermese, logistics is a crucial aspect. The company needs a partner that can guarantee fast and reliable transportation to maintain continuous production without interruptions. Additionally, the company requires that the transport aligns with its high sustainability standards. After an initial testing phase on specific routes, FERCAM became the main provider of full-load transport services for La Sanfermese and Corn Valley in 2022.FERCAM Solutions
The synergy between La Sanfermese and FERCAM is based on a partbership project driven by shared goals
«People often think that turning to a large group might mean gaining in quality but losing in flexibility of solutions or responsiveness to emergencies. However, this is not the case with FERCAM,» says Stefano Botticelli, Supply Chain Manager of La Sanfermese.
«Recently, for example, we had an urgent situation with our client in Spain, a relatively new and less frequented area for us compared to Germany and the central Brenner corridor. The situation was critical: our client's customer was offering a special discount on a specific product. It was essential to have the goods on the shelves in time. Despite the logistical complexity of organizing international transport with such short notice, our FERCAM contacts quickly arranged everything on Friday afternoon so that the goods could arrive in Spain by Monday. An impeccable and timely service that solved a big problem for us!»
Constant communication with the FERCAM team allowed us to optimize transportation activities, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure on-time deliveries. But what confirmed FERCAM as our logistics partner was their ability to provide sustainable transport using HVO powered vehicles, thereby contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions. «You can invest in sustainability from the very first trip with concrete and effective solutions, without waiting: this is the message we want to convey to our clients,» explains Emanuele Tomasi, Sales Manager of the FERCAM Transport Division.

Expansion and Future Projects
The collaboration, which initially began with transport along the Brenner corridor, has since further developed, gradually including additional destinations such as Spain, Portugal, and Poland. FERCAM's ability to maintain high service standards even on these new routes has enabled La Sanfermese to explore new market opportunities at the European level, continuing to pursue its environmental sustainability goals with determination.La Sanfermese
La Sanfermese Spa is the parent company of a food group composed of three dynamic and innovative companies: Sanfermese, engaged in agronomic activities and the production of ingredients for the plant-based beverage market, such as soy powder and edible soybeans, as well as for other breakfast and snack markets, through corn and durum wheat; Corn Valley, responsible for the production of hominy grits for food industries that produce corn flakes, corn cakes, and gluten-free pasta; and Organa, located in Slovenia, a producer of tofu destined for large-scale retail distribution (GDO). The acquisition of Organa in 2021 marked the first step towards the international growth of La Sanfermese, strengthening vertical integration and consolidating its presence in global markets.
