AgriEuro enhances Piacenza logistics with a new packaging line

In February 2021, AgriEuro – in collaboration with FERCAM – introduced an innovative and flexible packaging solution, specifically designed to meet the company's needs with a focus on true and efficient green logistics. This line, dedicated to packaging parcels with over-packaging up to 80 kg, enabled the processing of over 100,000 parcels per year using recycled cardboard and paper tape closures, completely eliminating the use of plastic and filler materials. Thanks to this innovation, AgriEuro and FERCAM were awarded the prestigious "Logistics of the Year 2021" award by Assologistica, in recognition of their commitment to sustainable logistics.

The increasing saturation of production capacity and the growing volumes of goods in storage prompted AgriEuro to plan further investments, leading to the development of a second packaging line, now operational at the Piacenza facility, under the management of the new joint venture DACHSER & FERCAM Italy. This new line stands out for its efficiency, handling parcels up to 25 kg with greater speed than the first facility.

One of the key innovations of this second line is the introduction of "tilting belts" technology, which enables the automatic closure of the lower flaps of parcels, while a special paper tape machine seals the upper flaps. Additionally, the system maintains high standards of traceability and ensures the precise application of shipping labels, a crucial element for the quality of service offered by AgriEuro.

With a production capacity of one parcel every 20 seconds, this new line can package up to 1,800 parcels per day during a 16-hour work shift. This achievement is the result of a project that took two years to complete and involved many professionals, further solidifying AgriEuro's position as a leader in the e-commerce market with exclusive and cutting-edge logistics solutions.
